Baches solicitors are celebrating their 150th birthday this week.

The firm was established by William Bache in 1867 and over the ensuing 150 years has put down deep roots in the local community.

For the past 45 years their offices in Cronehills Linkway have been a talking point amongst clients with bare brick walls hiding a garden with shrubs trees and a large pond which plays host to ducks, birdlife and the firm’s dog, Woody.

A birthday party is to be held at Sandwell Golf Club on Friday when the partners, staff – both past and present and long standing clients will be celebrating.  One of our oldest guests, now in his nineties, remembers his first instructions to the firm in 1948.

The 150 years have not been without incident.  The offices at Lombard Street were bombed during the war.

The firm has three partners, Jill Darbyshire, Jo Johnson and Lindsey Newell.  Jill joined the practice in 1987 and, having five young children at the time, was impressed with the family friendly philosophy of the firm.  That has become a hallmark of Baches attracting a loyal staff from diverse backgrounds.

Baches is proud of its connections with the local community fostered over a century and a half and is looking forward to a bright future making new friends and being part of the West Bromwich landscape for another 150 years.
